The St Mary's Hospital Coronary Flow Trust (CFT) is dedicated to advancing research into cardiovascular health. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death globally, but despite this it receives less than 7% of public and charity research funding in the UK.
The CFT primarily focuses on providing Cardiology junior doctors with support for their early research careers as well as contributing towards impactful larger bodies of cardiovascular research work.
The many publications and awards won by our sponsored researchers, attest to the success of this programme.
PROJECTS
We fund and lead world-class clinical trials and physiological studies aimed at transforming coronary artery disease treatment. From landmark trials like ORBITA-2 to groundbreaking microvascular assessments, our research delivers evidence-based insights to improve patient outcomes.
